The Edge Lookout

The Edge Lookout is a tourist attraction in association with Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.  It is a boardwalk structure with a cantilevered viewing deck and platform offering panoramic views of the Barron Gorge and Barron Falls in The Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

Clarke and Prince were the architects for the design and construct project.

Located in an environmentally sensitive area, construction had to adhere to strict conservation principles.  Deep concrete piers support steel beams and a walkway formed from clear glass and 5 tonnes of recycled plastic planks.
