Symphony Child Care Centre provides day care spaces for 71 children in Atherton.  The layout of the Centre links the separate learning areas of the younger children and older children through a central communal indoor play area.  The generous outdoor play area features nature play facilities and is located on the northern side of the building to benefit from the preferred solar orientation.

External circulation spaces are also used as play areas and are protected by the building mass from westerly winter winds and prevailing inclement weather from the south east.  The building is a practical, cost efficient and modern response to a suburban site within a rural community.
